Saturday Night

I finally have a few minutes to update here. I do update My Fitness Pal daily and if you're part of the Allan challenge, you know the password. My name over there is NJ Beth.

Allotment:
Calories: 1900
Fluid: 150 oz

I can't remember the last day I posted and I'm too lazy to check so let's start with Thursday. I made my fluid goals every day. It was actually pretty easy this week to drink the water.

Calories:
Thursday- 1366
Friday- 1054 (I had a terrible headache and just didn't feel like eating)
Saturday- 1202

I'll be weighing in tomorrow morning. I'll update in the afternoon.

This week's goal- get in some exercise.

Tuesday Check In

Allotment:
Fluids 150 oz
Calories 1900

Actual:
Fluids 163 oz
Calories 1227

For Allan's Challenge I am allowed 1900 calories because that is what the caloric intake for my goal weight of 170 is. In the nine days the challenge has been going on I have ranged from 1158-1383 calories. The average is 1286. The thing is, I am ok with around 1300 calories. Maybe six weeks from now I'll have changed my mind and struggle but for now, I'm good. Who would have thunk it?

Start of Week Two

Allotment
Fluids: 150 oz
Calories: 1900

Actual
Fluids: 160 oz
Calories: 1362

So, week one I lost 12.5 pounds. It was nice to see a big number but I am not going to get too excited about it. I mean, I'm excited but, I am huge so the weight is going to come off in a big way the first week. I have to keep this determination for the rest of my life.

This past Saturday we had a birthday party for our two youngest. They were born February and March and actually like having a "together party" as they call it. It works for me! I did not have any cake or ice cream- yay me.

Day 4

Working in an accounting office, I don't get much chance to blog during the day during tax season. The bossman had no appointments this afternoon so he left. So here I am.

The first couple of days have been pretty easy. My mind is set on the goal. My ass is set on the toilet because, holy cow, THE WATER! I'm very busy at work so eating is actually difficult to do during the day right now.

Nights are different. Nighttime has always been my tough time. I am a night eater. I could go all day, not eat and proceed to eat all night long. And, of course, not good stuff.

On Day 2 I mentioned I was hungry but wasn't sure if I would eat. I did eat a granola bar. I noted it on My Fitness Pal but not here. I was still well under my calories. Last night I was hungry and was only at 1158 calories. I could have eaten something; my challenge calories are 1900, My Fitness Pal told me I should get at least 1200 calories or I would put my body in "starvation mode" (tell me, do they really think a 317 pound person is going to starve?). Anyway, I could have eaten something, but... I was afraid to. I was afraid that if I ate something I would continue to eat. And eat. And eat. So I didn't eat anything.

So far today:

103 of 150 ounces fluid

1 granola bar (160 calories)
1 chicken salad sandwich (169 for chicken salad, 140 for bread- 309 total)
Total so far- 469 calories

I have another granola bar with me that I'll probably eat shortly. I've read mixed opinions about granola bars; some people think they are a good choice, some think they are a bad choice. I like the crunchy apple crisp ones but I only buy then when they are on sale so when this box is gone, that's the last until next sale. I'd better come up with a healthy, portable alternative quick.

How did I get to be 42 years old and not figure this shit out?

Day 3

Fluids: 150 oz
Calories: 1900

Fluids: 154 oz water
27 oz unsweetened brewed iced tea
I haven't spent this much time peeing since I was nine months pregnant!

Calories: 1158

2 granola bars 160 each
chicken salad sandwich 369
chicken & wild rice soup 200
chicken salad in a salad, light honey dijon dressing 269

This was a very crazy day. I am a bookkeeper in an accountant's office and this is our crazy season. Today was just non-stop, one issue after another. On top of the crazy job, I go to college full time to become an accountant.

I bought this six pound bag of frozen fruit at Costco. It has strawberries, honeydew, pineapple and peaches. I thought it would be a nice easy thing to throw in a container and take to work with me. Yesterday the fruit was still frozen but I ate the pieces anyway, trying to avoid my cold-sensitive tooth. Wasn't real thrilled with it that way. When I got home from work last night I put some of the fruit in the fridge so it would defrost and be ready when I got to work to eat it. That should solve the problem, right? No. The texture of that defrosted fruit was disgusting.  My husband and kids thought they were fine. I'm just going to eat them frozen and hope the fresh season gets here quick.

Day Two

Daily calories: 1900
Fluids: 150 ounces

Did better with the fluid today. 9pm and I'm at 164 ounces and I still have to take the giant antibiotic.

Food:

Apple crisp granola bar 160 calories
Chicken salad sandwich 369 calories
fruit 100 calories
salad 30 calories
light honey dijon 70 calories
crockpot lasagna 476 calories

Total so far: 1205

I'm feeling like I want to eat something but I don't know if it is habit or hunger. Since I can't decide what to have, I'm not having anything. That may change and if it does I will add it tomorrow.

Strawberries - Raw, 2 cup, sliced 106 calories
Nature Valley - Crunchy Granola Bar - Apple Crisp, 2 bars  160 calories

64 ounces of water
will have 12 more ounces when I take antibiotic
140 ounces total
short 10 ounces and I've peed more today than I did all last week
