Hey There.

Didn't mean to disappear but tax season and school are sucking up all my time right now.

Sundays weigh in for the Allan Challenge- 293! Twenty-four pounds lost in four weeks.

I keep My Fitness Pal up to date so if you are interested you can check out my menus and calories.

Have not added any exercise. In addition to being swamped time wise- I'm having terrible allergy/sinus issues. I am really liking this weight loss and know that exercise will contribute to that and to overall good health. I have also heard there are some people that actually like exercise when they find something they like. Who knows, maybe I'll become an exercise lover. Crazier things have happened.

Will probably disappear again but tax season is over in a few weeks so there will be more time then.

Weigh In 2

Start weight- 317 lbs
Week one- 304.5 lbs.  Lost 12.5
Week two- 301 lbs.     Lost 3.5       Total lost 16 lbs.

I'll take that!

Hope to see a 2 as the first number next week.

Saturday Night

I finally have a few minutes to update here. I do update My Fitness Pal daily and if you're part of the Allan challenge, you know the password. My name over there is NJ Beth.

Allotment:
Calories: 1900
Fluid: 150 oz

I can't remember the last day I posted and I'm too lazy to check so let's start with Thursday. I made my fluid goals every day. It was actually pretty easy this week to drink the water.

Calories:
Thursday- 1366
Friday- 1054 (I had a terrible headache and just didn't feel like eating)
Saturday- 1202

I'll be weighing in tomorrow morning. I'll update in the afternoon.

This week's goal- get in some exercise.

Tuesday Check In

Allotment:
Fluids 150 oz
Calories 1900

Actual:
Fluids 163 oz
Calories 1227

For Allan's Challenge I am allowed 1900 calories because that is what the caloric intake for my goal weight of 170 is. In the nine days the challenge has been going on I have ranged from 1158-1383 calories. The average is 1286. The thing is, I am ok with around 1300 calories. Maybe six weeks from now I'll have changed my mind and struggle but for now, I'm good. Who would have thunk it?

Dysfunction Junction

My mom is overweight. Four months ago she weighed 285 and she's around 5'4" tall. She has done every diet invented. She has done Weight Watchers four or five times. She started again two weeks ago. She complains that it just doesn't work for her, the doctor needs to give her medicine to lose weight, she's older, no matter what she does it doesn't work. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I haven't made bad choices, gone from diet to no diet to new diet.

What I haven't done is be completely negative and sabotaging.

When I told my mom about Allan's challenge (with the intent of asking her if she wanted to do it too), the first thing she said was, "There's no way you can win that, why are you bothering?"

On Saturday, at the birthday party, my sister asked how I was doing. My mom heard her and said, "She may have done good this week but she'll never keep it up."

Later she gave me a hard time for not having any birthday cake and ice cream. "It's your daughters' birthday, how can you not eat their cake?" My response, "I'd rather be alive to see them grown than eat cake." So happy I could come up with that quickly!

My sister and I talked about it. We came to the conclusion that my mom likes me fat. If I'm fat, she's not alone. If I'm fat, she has someone to eat with. If I'm fat, she doesn't feel so bad about herself.

Well, sorry, mom, I'm done being fat.

Start of Week Two

So, week one I lost 12.5 pounds. It was nice to see a big number but I am not going to get too excited about it. I mean, I'm excited but, I am huge so the weight is going to come off in a big way the first week. I have to keep this determination for the rest of my life.

This past Saturday we had a birthday party for our two youngest. They were born February and March and actually like having a "together party" as they call it. It works for me! I did not have any cake or ice cream- yay me.
